You've got your own login to our movie and TV server. Follow the four steps below to install the app, sign in, start watching, and ask for shows we don't have yet.
The app is called Jellyfin, and it's free. Install it on whichever devices you'll watch on.
PlayStation doesn't have a Jellyfin app. Use the Roku on the TV instead.
Want to watch in another room? A phone or any web browser works too: just go to the server address.
The first time you open the app, it asks which server to use. Give it the server address, then your username and password.
Hate typing on a TV? Choose Quick Connect on the Roku and it shows a short code. On your phone, open Jellyfin, tap your profile picture, choose Quick Connect, and type that code in.
Spelling matters. Include https:// and don't add www. Your username is all lowercase. Your password is case-sensitive.
The home screen shows Continue Watching, Next Up for shows you've started, and rows of Movies and Shows. Tap anything to see details, then hit Play. Use the magnifying glass to search for something specific.
Your progress syncs across devices. Stop an episode on the Roku and pick it up on your phone where you left off.
Can't find a show or movie? Request it on the request site and it gets added to the server automatically. You sign in there with the same username and password.
The request site doesn't have an app, but you can make it behave like one:
Now there's an icon next to Jellyfin, and you won't have to type the address again.
Popular titles usually show up fast. Older or rarer ones can take longer. Come back to the request site any time to see where a request stands.
Check the address character by character: https://jellyfin.shiresfam.com. If it still fails, the server might be restarting, so give it a few minutes.
Your username is goober, all lowercase. If the password still doesn't work, text me and I'll reset it.
In the player, tap the gear icon and pick a lower quality, like 720p. That helps a lot on slow Wi-Fi or mobile data.
